Connecting Value Across Borders
Cross-Border Payment Infrastructure
Secure, compliant, and interoperable infrastructure designed to improve the efficiency and transparency of regional value movement.
The Problem
Across Southern Africa, individuals and small businesses face high costs, slow settlement times, and limited access when sending or receiving money across borders. Existing solutions are often fragmented, dependent on costly intermediaries, or inaccessible to users without formal banking relationships. These challenges continue to constrain regional trade, remittances, and participation in the digital economy.
What We’re Building
Payment Rails
Core infrastructure designed to support efficient and affordable cross-border value transfer.
Integration Interfaces
Interfaces built on top of core infrastructure to support secure storage and controlled movement of digital value.
Payment APIs
API-based rails enabling integration by partners, developers, and service providers.
Scalable Infrastructure
Infrastructure designed with compliance, transparency, and long-term scalability in mind.

Build Phase
BwanaPay is currently in a structured infrastructure build phase. Core payment rails and settlement logic have been implemented in a controlled development environment and are undergoing staged validation prior to testnet deployment. The present focus is on protocol hardening, compliance workflow integration, and operational tooling to support a controlled corridor launch.
- Core technical architecture defined
- Anchor implemented in local environment
- Compliance and routing underway
